Tabriz Hajijalili

One of the Tabriz Hajijalili rugs from northwest Persia, this piece was woven circa 1900 featuring a central medallion made of floral motifs sitting on an open coral red field. The surrounding border consists of cartouches with classic Tabriz medallions. This rug is finely woven on a cotton foundation with wool pile and using symmetry knotting.
