ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Having started his career as a fashion designer, Samuele Mazza became a phenomenal protagonist in the 1980s. He has followed his curiosity and artistic desires through the cultural events that have shaped our times.

After broadening out from fashion, Mazza has lent his talents to architectural design, temporary architecture installations, furniture and interior design, plus industrial design.

During the 1990’s he collaborated with the most prominent publishing group in Italy, Mondadori, to edit a series of books dedicated to Italian Fashion. Amongst these, volumes were published on Bulgari, Missoni, Versace, Ferretti, Trussardi, Ferré and Etro.

A global traveller, Mazza has honed his skills and channelled his experiences into his designs. He collaborated with Massimo Vignelli and Ida Panicelli. This experience gained him a new awareness of set design and resulted in inspiration for his next project.

His first showroom – Visionnaire Home Philosophy – was opened in 2001, and Milan welcomed it enthusiastically.

Mazza designed a collection for Ipe Cavalli, where he later handed over the brand to the company in Bologna. Remaining as the Creative Director until 2010, Samuele contributed his skills to make Visionnaire a global success.

Now renowned for designing public spaces, hotels and shops, Mazza is also recognised for the creation of a new collection of furniture with his name, inspired by the ‘30s and Art Déco

Mazza has a passion for precious materials such as velvet and marble, as well as more rustic textiles such as rattan. He takes his inspiration from the world around him, his personal experiences and his Sicilian origins.

The Samuele Mazza collection is a bold mix of jewelled tones, monochromes and geometric expression. The variation in the collection makes these rugs an ideal focal piece for any chic modern space looking for an outlet of expression.
