This Tabriz medallion rug more specifically a Hadjijalili named after the famous weaver who created the unique Court design in the 19th Century and whose name is associated with the finest Tabriz rugs of that era, is woven from the finest quality wools with a sophisticated design. This rug has been preserved in almost perfect condition which adds to its uniqueness and how rare it is – a perfect example of the rugs woven in the middle of Qajar era. This rug was finely woven on a cotton foundation with wool pile woven with symmetry knotting.
