FINE CRAFTSMANSHIP
A traditional piece is often so complex that it cannot be exactly replicated. This is a crucial feature of most Persian rugs for sale. We honour this tradition by using traditional techniques to ensure the individuality of each carpet is not lost in the translation of the design.
Carpet weaving is an art in Persia that dates back for over 2,500 years and has been passed from one generation to the next. This art form has evolved during this time – mostly through the weavers who portrayed aspects of their life in the rug design to reflect their history.
Persian rugs are often named after the region where they are produced, such as Tabriz. Alternatively, after the ethnic groups to which the weavers belong such as the Bakhtiaris.
The Parsa Collection is an exploration into the depths of traditional design. The use of animals and plants were frequently featured in Persian design, with each having a meaning. We continue to use this iconography to tell a story through the textiles.

The majority of our Parsa rugs are finely hand-knotted. Hand-knotting requires a high level of skill and time and means that while we can offer the same design to a range of customers; no two rugs will ever be completely identical.
