This is an antique Peking small rug woven in the eastern part of China during the 2nd quarter of the 20th century circa 1940-50’s. It has an open field design with no motifs located on its field and makes use of a dark blue background colour. Its main border is made up using six tree motifs with blossoming flowers set on a darker blue background. Its innermost border is made up of a simplistic ivory colour with no motifs and creates a contrast against the overall darker colour palette of the rug.

This piece has been woven on a cotton foundation with a wool pile and comes in:

  • 90 x 61 cm
