This is an antique small Peking rug woven in the eastern part of China during the 2nd quarter of the 20th century circa 1940-50’s. It has an open field design with no motifs located in its field and makes use of a dark blue background colour. Its main border is made up using six tree motifs with blossoming flowers. Its innermost border is made up of a simplistic ivory colour with no motifs and creates a contrast against the overall darker colour palette of the rug.
This rug has been woven on a cotton foundation and uses 100% wool pile and comes in:
