This is an antique small Kazak rug woven in the western part of the Caucasus mountains circa 1920-30’s. It has a triple medallion design accompanied with a Mihrab at the top and set on a simplistic open field. Of the triple medallion design, the center medallion is the only one different in design having a pink hooked medallion set on a lime green background colour. The center medallion creates dramatic colour contrast compared to the rest of the rug drawing the viewers’ attention towards it. The field is comprised of a minimalistic design with only three different motifs seldomly scattered throughout the field. The border is made using a polychrome flower motif interconnected by a Vine design. 

This rug has been woven on a cotton foundation with all wool pile and comes in:

  • 130 x 80 cm

Condition: Overall Good with some areas of low pile.
