This is an antique Kazak rug woven in the western part of the Caucasus mountains at the beginning of the 20th century circa 1900-10’s. It has a triple medallion design set on a simplistic field with a bright red background colour. The field has a few scattered geometric motifs which draw the viewers eyes towards the blue colour of the center medallions. The main border has an orange background colour and is comprised of alternating arrow and abstract geometric motifs. The other two borders have a blue background colour and have polychrome repeating geometric floral motifs.

This rug has been woven on a wool foundation with all wool pile and comes in:

  • 216 x 153 cm

Condition: Overall very Good retaining most of its full original pile.
