One of the Hadjijalili Tabriz rugs from northwest Persia, this piece was woven circa 1880. This prayer rug design is a popular design within this area of rug weaving. The colour combination on the other hand is very rare and seldom seen in silk Tabriz rugs and highly sought after. The rare sky blue, and the pastel red ivory and yellow colour combination creates a dramatic effect and is one of a kind. This rug is finely woven on a silk foundation with silk pile and using symmetry knotting.

Condition: Good with some wear in the center of the rug consistent with age.
