This is an antique Sarough rug from central Persia woven circa 1920’s. This piece has a dense floral design with a light pink colour background and a heavy border set on a navy blue background with an array of intricate patterns in the same pink shades. Sarough rugs are known to be tightly knotted resulting in them being quite heavy and ideal for high traffic areas.
This rug is finely hand-knotted in the finest wool on cotton and is available in:
