This is a large antique Sarough rug from Central Persia woven circa 1920-1930. This piece has a dense floral design with a small floral central medallion surrounded by an array of different bouquets set on a crimson red background colour.  The border is designed with alternating palmettes surrounded by an array of blossoming flowers set on a blue background creating colour contrast against the red-colored field.

This rug is finely hand-knotted in the finest wool on cotton and is available in: 

  • 720 x 350 cm
