This is an antique Sarab rug woven in Northwest Persia during end of the 19th century. This rug has a triple medallion field design set on a camel coloured background with repeating diamond shaped motifs. The main border has abstract circular red motifs set on a black background – an extremely unique and adds a unique tribal feel to the rug. The last blue and brown border create some colour contrast within the rug and draw the viewers’ attention to the sky-blue colour.
This piece has been woven on a cotton foundation with 100% wool pile and all-natural vegetable dyes and is available in:
