DETAILS
This is one of the antique Malayers from Western Persia woven circa 1920’s. The design of this rug is made up of three pillars with surrounding geometric floral motifs and makes use of a small center medallion. The field uses neon colors such as pink, red, blue, green, and light blue, all set on a black field background colour creating a dramatic visual impact on the viewer. The main border is made up of smaller palmettes each flanked by the famous sickle leaf motif on a blue background. This rug has an overall geometric design and because of the addition of a center medallion the viewer’s eye is drawn in towards the center of the rug.
This rug is finely handknotted on a cotton foundation with 100 % wool pile and is available in:
- 140 x 96 cm
Condition: Overall Good Condition with areas of low pile and wear consistent with age.
