Malayer

DETAILS

This is an antique Malayer rug woven in West Persia at the beginning of the 20th century circa 1900. Its field has an all-over Herati design set on a red background colour. The border is created spy a zig-zag vine with spikes surrounded by abstract floral motifs. A unique feature of this piece is that it’s field takes up about 90% of the rug and has small-scaled borders creating a dramatic visual and drawing the attention of the viewer towards the center of the rug.

This rug is finely handknotted on a cotton foundation with 100 % wool pile and is available in:

  • 385 x 184 cm

Condition: Very Good

Please note that this is a unqiue piece and cannot be customised. If you are looking for a similar rug in a different size, please consult listing below or contact us to discuss your requirements.
