Malayer

DETAILS

This is one of the antique Malayer runners from Western Persia woven circa 1900. It has an all-over unique field design that incorporates the famous paisley motif connected with vines which have blossoming flowers and miniature paisleys emerging from them. The main border follows this design style with small pool mats interconnected with a green vine design accompanied with smaller animal and geometric motifs. The black background colour of the field creates a contrast against the ivory colored corner medallions.
