This is a Tehran rug from north Persia, dating back to circa 1900-1910. This rug has a Haj Khanoumi design which is both famous and rare. At the base of the field, there are Cypres trees and vases that have hundreds of blossoming flowers. The border displays a unique geometric design using floral motifs. This rug is finely hand-knotted on a cotton foundation with wool pile.
