DETAILS

This Senneh rug from the Kurdistan region known for its asymmetrical knot was woven circa 1880. It features a delicate multicoloured geometrical pattern that set into repeating horizontal rows.  This Senneh rug is an example of what is call ‘Haft Rang’ meaning seven colours.  The reason for this name is the multi coloured silk foundation composed of seven colours.
