DETAILS
This is one of the antique Qashqai rugs woven in Southwest Persia circa 1910 – 20s. The design of this rug incorporates a center medallion indicative of Qashqai weavings surrounded by blossoming trees or shrubs throughout the field. The center medallion of this rug makes use of an ivory colour that creates a contrast against the brick red and dark blue background field colours and this contrast causes the viewers’ eyes to focus on the center of the rug. The main border of this rug has a centered pillar with repeating circular geometric motifs spaced evenly apart and the minor borders have repeating paisley motifs that alternate their direction.
This rug is finely handknotted on a wool foundation with 100 % wool pile and is available in:
- 234 x 159 cm
Condition: Overall Good Condition.
