This is an antique Kerman Rug from Southwest Persia woven circa 1890.  This piece has a vase design with a tree emerging with blossoming exotic flowers and nesting birds. This rug has poetry set in cartouches within the border of the rug and two sufi men sitting smoking shisha. This rug is representing artistic people of that time reading poetry enjoying nature, and smoking shisha. 

This rug is finely hand-knotted in the finest wool on cotton and is available in: 

  • 200 x 130 cm
