This is one of the Kashan wool rugs from central Persia woven circa 1910-1920. The design is a tree of life with many exotic flowers and birds. The border of this rug has cartouches with a Cypres tree at the center flanked by two small birds. This piece tells the story of how we all start from the dirt of this earth, blossom into life and eventually reach the heavens. This rug was woven with the finest wool used for its pile and a cotton foundation using symmetry knots.

Condition: Overall Good Condition with areas of low pile and wear consistent with age.
