DETAILS

This antique Persian rug is a silk Heriz from Northwest Persia woven circa 1880. This design has a one directional interlocking geometric field pattern that uses the iconic palmette from the Heriz district to show the direction of the top of the rug and arabesque motifs. The border has a geometric vine design with floral motifs. The last border is a rare design symbolising running water.

This rug is finely hand-knotted in the finest silk on silk.
