Heriz Silk

This is an antique Silk Heriz form northwest Persia woven circa 1880-1900 and has a very unique design with a mix of an overall and center medallion field design. The larger central medallion takes up the whole field from top to bottom. The border has an elegant blossoming floral design. This piece is collectible and rare. This rug is woven with the finest silk foundation and silk pile using symmetrical knotting.

Condition: Almost perfect condition with some areas of pile oxidation consistent with age.
