This Farahan is a small antique rug in the Collection and was woven in Central Persia circa 1900-1910. This rug has a rare central medallion on an open field which together with the connecting corner medallions create a perfect symmetry giving the rug a very geometric aspect. The lack of motifs around the medallion gives the latter a dramatic effect.  This piece was woven with wool foundation and wool pile.
