This is a Bakhshayesh rug originating from Northwest Persia.  Bakhshayesh rugs are famous for their use of the camel colour, and this one is no different  This rug has a triple medallion set on an open field surrounded by a border with Herati motifs. Bakhshayesh rugs are sought after by both interior designers and collectors for their decorative designs and collectability.  This Bakhshayesh is woven on a wool foundation with wool pile and it uses symmetric knotting.
