DETAILS

This is an antique Bakhshayesh rug woven in Northwest Persia circa 1890. The field design of this runner incorporates rows of repeating shrub motifs and each row alternates the colour combination of the shrubs. The background colour of the field is a soft yellow which is extremely rare and highly sought-after by collectors and designers alike. The main border has a much more geometric design and its’ motifs fit together like puzzle pieces. The outer minor border incorporates floral motifs interconnected with a vine design and creates fluid like movement within the rug.

This rug is finely handknotted on a wool foundation with 100 % wool pile and is available in:

  • 361 x 100 cm

Condition: Overall Good Condition with some areas of low pile consistent with age.

Please note that this is a unqiue piece and cannot be customised. If you are looking for a similar rug in a different size, please consult listing below or contact us to discuss your requirements.
