This is an Afshari rug from Southwest Persia dating circa 1890-1900 woven in between southwest and southeast Persia. It features an extra large central medallion with allover floral motifs set on a dark background. The rest of the field consists of tribal motifs spread throughout. The border consists of geometric patterns. The colour palette is rather bright and lively. It has been woven on an wool foundation with 100% all natural vegetable dyes.

Condition: Overall Good Condition with some areas of low pile consistent with age.
