This is an Afshari antique rug from Southwest Persia dating circa 1910. It features a unique geometric border surrounding a light blue field with four rows of large abstract floral motifs going from one side to the other. The colour palette is rather bright and lively. This rug is very finely hand-knotted in wool and cotton.
