This is an antique Agra rug woven in India during the end of the 19th century circa 1900 and measures 528 x 367 cm in size. This piece has an all-over floral design featuring both large and small-scaled flowers set on a unique green background color. The border is comprised of repeating floral motifs surrounded by an array of flowers connected by vines set on a saturated red Background color which creates color contrast against the green-colored field. The overall floral design and use of a limited color palette create an extremely elegant piece. It has been woven on a cotton foundation using all wool pile with 100% natural vegetable dyes and has been preserved in overall great condition retaining most of its original full pile.
