This is an antique Khotan rug woven in East Turkestan during the beginning of the 20th century circa 1900 -1910 and measures 306 x 153 cm in size. This piece has an all-over field design with rows of alternating crossed shape floral motifs flanked by a singular large-scaled flower set on a pale blue background color. The main border follows suit with the field’s design with alternating large flowers and geometric bush motifs set on the same pale blue background color. This Khootan has been woven on a cotton foundation and made using all wool pile with 100% natural vegetable dyes and has been preserved in overall great condition retaining most of its original full pile.
