This is an antique Bokhara rug woven in Turkmenistan circa 1920 – 40’s. It has an all over design with three columns of 10 repeating guls all interconnected with a black solid line creating a grid. Its border is designed with repeating tribal medallions enclosed in a box. Both ends of this rug are designed with large scale diamond shaped medallions with repeating hooks and small diamonds placed in each one’s center. This rug has an overall brown red and black colour palette that is consistent throughout the entire rug.

This rug is very finely hand-knotted on a wool foundation with a wool pile.
