This Senneh antique rug from the Kurdistan region known for its asymmetrical knot was woven circa 1880-1900. It features a traditional design of a central medallion and allover Herati motifs. It is surrounded by a border with a design that is indicative of Kurdish weaving. This piece is woven on a cotton foundation with wool pile and uses asymmetric knotting.
