This is an antique Ravar Kerman woven in southeast Persia at the end of the 19th century circa 1890. This piece features a heavily decorated stylistic center medallion set on an open field beige background colour closely accompanied by the corner medallions which makes the negative space stand out. The main border has a split arabesque design surrounded by an array of blossoming flowers giving movement to the design. This piece has been preserved and overall great condition and has a highly impactful design making it perfect for any traditional or royal setting.
This rug is finely handknotted on a cotton foundation with 100 % wool pile and is available in:
