Najafabad

This semi-antique Najafabad rug was woven in Central Persia in the second quarter of the 20th century circa 1930-40s. It has an all-over design with a center tree flanked by cypress tree motifs and a bouquet of three roses located in the bottom corners of the rug set on a bright red background. Its border has alternating floral motifs set on a dark blue background. In the center of the field, there is a change of colour within the red background which is known as ‘abrash’.
This rug was woven on a cotton foundation on a wool pile and comes in:
- 92 x 80 cm
Condition: Overall Perfect retaining most of its full pile.
