DETAILS

This is an antique Malayer carpet from Western Persia woven circa 1890. It has a classical Qajar design of repeating paisley motifs interconnected by a vine with blossoming flowers and miniature paisleys. This design is normally found is textiles and the weaver has taken inspirations from these when designing this rug. Just like the field, the five borders have densely packed designs and the ivory main border creates colour contrast against the overall darker colour palette.

This rug is finely handknotted on a cotton foundation with 100 % wool pile and is available in:

  • 350 x 148 cm

Condition: Overall Good Condition with areas of low pile and wear consistent with age.
