This is an antique Kashan woven in Central Persia in the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1920. This piece features a large floral central medallion set on a soft red open field background and the corner medallions follow suit with the design and colour combination of the central medallion. The border is decorated with alternating floral motifs interconnected by a vine design set on a blue-coloured background creating colour contrast against the soft red field. This Kashan has been woven on a cotton foundation and made using wool pile and all-natural vegetable dyes. It has been preserved in overall excellent condition retaining all its original full pile and is ready to be used in enjoyed in any classical setting for decades to come.
