This antique Chinese Peking rug was woven in the eastern part of China in the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1900–20’s. It has an overall floral design with many different branch motifs spread throughout and one extra-large branch motif located in the center set on a dark blue background colour. The first border is integrated within the field and has a vine design with many different blossoming flowers and butterfly motifs located in each of the corners. The second border is made using a semi-circle interconnected design with blossoming flowers and shrub motifs set on an ivory background colour creating a contrast against the overall darker colour palette of the field.

This rug has been woven on a cotton foundation using all wool pile and comes in:
