This antique Ziegler Sultanabad was woven in central Persia during the last quarter of the 19th century. The Ziegler Company from Manchester, England set up looms in the old city of Sultanabad.  The distinguishing factor of this rug as a Ziegler is its use of light colours and large scale motifs. These elements were woven by the Ziegler company for export to the English and American markets. 

This rug is finely hand-knotted in the finest wool on cotton and available in:
