This is a Tabriz Hajijalili antique rug from Northwest Persia, dating back to circa 1920-1930 featuring an arabesque design with spiraling vines that have different flowers blossoming from them. The rug has bird motifs throughout the field. At the top of the rug, the Mihrab has rose motifs on a blue background constrasting with the beige field. The borders are composed of tree branches and blossoming flowers. This rug is finely hand-knotted on a cotton foundation with wool pile.
