This antique silk Kashan was woven in central Persia circa 1910. This is a 100% silk woven with silk pile and on a silk foundation rug. It features the famous tree of life design which continues to the apex of the Mihrab with an array of different flowers representing the famous gardens of the city of Kashan. The oversized palmettes in the centre of the tree draw the eye of the viewer to the center of the rug.
This piece is finely hand-knotted and is available in:
