No One’s Land is a powerful and unique rug inspired by the vast areas of the ocean that lie beyond national jurisdiction – territories without borders yet bearing a shared responsibility. Floating forms and aquatic elements emerge across the surface, forming a dynamic composition rendered in vibrant, expressive hues that evoke both beauty and fragility. The design moves between tension and hope, inviting reflection while leaving space for renewal.

The creative process mirrors this duality. Exposed to intense heat, imagined landscapes become altered and unfamiliar. Cracks, fractures, and incisions – originally carved by hand into leather surfaces – serve as the first physical gestures of the work. These marks are then translated digitally and reinterpreted with complete artistic freedom, ultimately taking shape as a large-scale Handknotted rug.

No One’s Land is Finely Handknotted in New Zealand Wool and natural Silk and natural Silk relief. This masterpiece is available in the size 500 x 180 cm.
